The Business and Administration SVQs has been developed specifically for staff working in a general administration environment and covers such duties as data processing, organising work schedules, and storing, retrieving and supplying information.
The Business Administration SVQ consists of 3 mandatory units and 5 optional units, which can be selected dependant on your job role. Options consist of subject areas such as accounting and finance, customer service, and digital technologies.
“The key benefit for us is to have well trained staff within our own industry, and also the particular procedures here at Barns Medical Practice. The scheme offers an excellent training plan for new members of the administration team, and a good path to offer employees who wish to continue their professional development. The qualification is achieved by staff evidencing tasks that they are already completing, so aside from several observations and meetings with their Assessor, it doesn’t take a lot of time away from their day to day tasks. This also means that we can be sure that their learning, and indeed qualification is valid to their job role”– Jan McCulloch, Practice Managing Partner, Barns Medical Practice
The qualification is available at SCQF Level 5, for junior administrators, SCQF Level 6 for administrators who have some responsibility within their workplace, and SCQF 8 for office supervisors and managers.
Modern Apprenticeships are funded by Skills Development Scotland so regardless of your employees age funding may be available. In some cases there may be a small Employer contribution to pay.
