GQA – New ID Requirements
GQA have recently introduced a requirement for GQA Centres to obtain and hold evidence to prove the identity of candidates registered with them.
This applies to:
- All learners registered for regulated GQA qualifications delivered by RT Resources
- All forms of assessment (internal, external, practical, online or written)
- All staff involved in assessment, invigilation, enrolment, and quality assurance
RT Resources must ensure that:
- The individual undertaking an assessment is the same person who has been registered with the awarding organisation.
- Learner identity is verified before the start of any assessment where identity has not been previously confirmed.
- Clear and auditable records of identity checks are maintained.
- Only valid, acceptable forms of ID are used for verification.
- The process is applied fairly and consistently for all learners.
Acceptable Forms of Identification
Learners must present one of the following original, valid documents:
Primary photographic ID (preferred)- ONE of the documents from the list below is deemed sufficient

- Passport (any nationality)
- UK or EU/EEA photocard driving licence
- Biometric residence permit
- National identity card (with photograph)
- Government-issued photographic ID card
If none of the primary photographic evidence listed above is available, then TWO of the documents listed below must be checked and retained
Alternative photographic ID
- Employer-issued photo ID
Non-photographic ID (only with an accompanying learner declaration or secondary check)
- Full birth certificate
- UK bank card plus proof of address (utility bill, bank statement—dated within last 3 months)
In order for R T Resources to meet these requirements, we now need individuals wishing to register with us to provide the above evidence along with their Application Form and a passport style head and shoulders photo against a plain, light coloured background.
Please email these to ma@rtresources.co.uk.
